Egypt: Temple of Karnack (Luxor)

Everybody may talk about visiting the Pyramids when you go to Egypt - but a trip that misses the Temple of Karnack is a missed opportunity.

It is OLD. The Ancient Egyptians started construction on this Temple complex in the 16th century BC - that's almost 4000 years ago. And they continued to make improvements to it for the next 2000 years.

It is HUGE. It covers something ridiculous like 65 acres - trust me, that's big. When you consider there is no other religious structure in the World (Church, Mosque, Synagogue, etc.) that is even close to that size, you can understand why people who visit say that there is nothing like it.

One of these days I'll post all the pictures to this place so you can see the diversity that is there - but there are multiple obelisks, huge statues, temples, and open areas.
