Olympics: Curling

The first event we went to was curling. Basically the object of the game is to throw a block of stone called a rock and make sure it gets as close to the center as possible. The team at the end who has the most rocks in the center wins. It's not as fast a game as the Downhill or a hockey game, but it was really interesting to watch.

Since curling doesn't take up a lot of space (like a hockey or football game), we actually saw three games going on at the same time. We saw the women's teams Japan play Sweden, Great Britain play Norway, and the US play Italy. Fortunately, we saw the US beat Italy (11 to 3).
