Egypt: Temple of Horus (Edfu)

After Kom Ombo we got back on the boat and sailed up the Nile to Edfu to the Temple of Horus. This was a strange story too.

This picture is just Wade and Patrick standing in front of a statue of Horus, but in fact the temple is in the middle of the city and absolutely HUGE. And here's the weird thing . . . they lost the temple and only discovered it 100 years ago. I'm not sure how you just lose a temple that is as tall as a 10 story building and takes up more room than a couple football fields, but somehow they did.

Oh, and the time period . . . it's young to - Greek Period - 300 BC.
